Quill – A heartrending film
from Japan.

Quill, a Labrador puppy, is sent to a guide dog training school. He is slow at learning, but he is unusually compassionate and patient with his strict trainers. The school decides that Quill would be ideal for Mitsuru Watanabe, but Watanabe, an ill-tempered, solitary blind man, is not enthusiastic at all. He would “rather sleep than be dragged around by a dog.” Nonetheless, Quill took him out. Together they ventured into the outside world where Watanabe learns not only to trust Quill, but also other people. [See details from IMDb; watch trailer on YouTube.]
Blindsight
– An award-winning documentary about a dangerous expedition
into the Himalayas
It is dangerous not only because the destination is over 7,000m from sea-level,
but also because the climbers are blind. Led by professional climbers, six blind
Tibetan teenagers set off to climb to the top of the world. But as some of the children
become worryingly ill, a dilemma emerges: should the group split so that the healthy
can conquer the summit, or stay together to support one another? [Movie official site]

My Left Foot original poster
Born with cerebral palsy into a poor, working class family in Ireland, Christy Brown can only move his left foot and speak by uttering sounds.
